Check what your funding covers
Ask your programme contact whether your award covers tutoring and what approval is needed. Share your programme name when you enquire so we can discuss the requirements for your request.
Tutor matching
Tell us what you’re studying
Include your institution, subject or module, level and current difficulties. Add your available lesson times and preferred format so we can look for a suitable tutor.
Payment arrangements
Confirm how lessons will be paid for
Confirm with your programme whether tutoring is approved and how payment will be arranged. We agree the payment arrangements with you before booking.
Before booking
Agree the lesson details
Funding approval and tutor availability are separate checks. Once both are confirmed, agree the schedule and, for in-person lessons, the meeting place and travel arrangements.
Before you enquire
A few useful answers.
Is this an application for a bursary?
No. This page is for arranging tutoring through an existing funding programme. Applications for funding must go through the relevant programme.
Does my bursary cover tutoring automatically?
Your programme must confirm whether your specific award covers tutoring and what approval is required. Being funded or seeing your programme listed here does not automatically authorise lessons.
What if my programme is not listed?
Ask your bursary manager or academic support contact whether tutoring can be approved. You can still enquire with the programme details so we can discuss what is needed. Coverage and payment must be confirmed before booking.
What information should I include in the enquiry?
Include your programme, institution, subject or module, level and preferred lesson format. When asked who will pay, choose Organisation and enter your programme name in the organisation details field. Our team will explain any supporting documents needed.
Can I pay Cape Town Tutors through Intellimali?
Cape Town Tutors does not currently accept Intellimali payments. Contact us to confirm whether another payment arrangement can be agreed with your programme before booking.
Will my programme pay directly or reimburse me?
Ask your programme contact which arrangement is approved for your award. Confirm that arrangement with us before booking or paying. Reimbursement is not guaranteed.
Can I start while approval or funding is pending?
Tell us what is still pending so we can discuss the next steps. Lesson bookings depend on confirmed approval, payment arrangements and tutor availability.
Can funded lessons be in person or online?
You can request in-person lessons in Cape Town and surrounding service areas, or online lessons anywhere in South Africa. We check tutor availability and confirm whether the proposed arrangement meets your funding approval.
